The story behind BareLok
BareLok started with a simple problem: traditional beanies don’t always stay put on a bald or closely shaved head. What began as a personal frustration became an idea for a better-fitting beanie—one designed to stay where you put it without sacrificing comfort or style.
Why BareLok exists.
Most beanies are designed around one assumption: that hair will help create friction and keep the hat in place. BareLok challenges that assumption by starting with the needs of bald and closely shaved wearers first.
It started with a problem I knew personally.
As someone with a bald head, I knew the frustration firsthand. A beanie could look great when I put it on, but movement, exercise, or simply going about the day could cause it to creep upward or work its way off. Constantly pulling it back into place shouldn’t be part of wearing a beanie.
From frustration to a better idea.
The idea behind BareLok wasn’t to make a tighter beanie. It was to rethink how a beanie stays in place. Instead of relying on pressure alone, BareLok is being developed around strategically placed grip zones designed to create hold where it matters while keeping comfort, breathability, and everyday wear in mind.
Built around the wearer.
Every part of BareLok is being considered from the perspective of the person wearing it—from where the grip makes contact to how the beanie feels during movement. The goal isn’t to add technology for the sake of technology. It’s to solve a real problem in a simple, comfortable way.
